What we do

WHAT WE DO

We promote, develop and manage socially responsible waste management projects, from inception to operations, as an economically feasible alternative to landfills in the Caribbean and Latin America.

OUR GOAL

To resolve two inherent regional problems by meeting the final waste disposition needs of host communities & introducing clean renewable energy into the national systems.

OUR WASTE-TO-ENERGY SOLUTION

ENVIRONMENTALLY-SOUND

Our firm stewards the design and implementation of plants that recover energy from non-recyclable waste, and are capable of yielding an extremely high output of 730 GWh/y (depending on the waste throughput) with less CO2 emissions compared to fossil fuels, thus slowing climate change.

In addition to this, our model effectively works to reduce the environmental impact caused by pollutants propagated by the irresponsible, antiquated, and uncontrolled landfill practices present in emerging markets.

WHOLESOME AND SANITARY

The generation, disposal and collection of waste has always been linked to the hygiene of communities. Similarly, the management of such waste once collected is no less relevant to public health. In other words, the apparent cleanliness of a community is not enough to safeguard the health of its inhabitants. For this reason, our plants are a responsible alternative to open-air dumpsites as they prevent the spread of bacteria and infectious diseases, the aggravation of numerous chronic diseases and devastating health crises.

ECONOMICALLY-FEASIBLE

Waste-to-Energy plants inexpensively transforms traditional waste management practices into clean energy facilities that are self-sustaining and commercially-proven.

Our plants can obtain up to 95% of the energy in waste, and their kWh/year output can be adjusted for further efficiency. As such, we combine commercially proven technologies and enhance performances to implement affordable solutions as an economically feasible alternative to landfills.

FROM INCEPTION TO OPERATIONS

Unlike project financing consultancies, independent investment partners or business brokers alone, our firm is specialized in turn-key Waste-to-Energy solutions from inception to operations. This means we are fully engaged in all project aspects from; economic feasibility assessment, securing the waste supply, site selection, engineering, and project financing. Our development process includes but is not limited to; permitting, long-term PPA contracts, construction and facility operations & maintenance.

LEARN MORE ABOUT

WASTE-TO-ENERGY

Waste-to-Energy refers to the process of harnessing electrical energy from municipal solid waste. These quick links will allow you to expand your learning about:

OUR INDUSTRIAL PROCESS

The process of our waste-to-energy solution begins with non-recyclable waste that is weighed and mixed. The waste is then incinerated at > 850 °C to destroy present dioxins. The heat generated is used to produce steam, and this steam is driven to a turbine which produces electricity in an efficient manner. The gas produced in the process is cleansed, 20% of which is re-used for combustion to further reduce the plant's environmental impact.

OUR REFERENCE FACILITY

Zabalgarbi is the Waste-to-Energy plant developed in the Basque Country by Sener, and is the reference plant used by SIE.

Zabalgarbi's high yield is the result of the adaptation and integration of the technology of modern urban Waste-to-Energy plants and those with a combined fuel cycle.

BECOME A STRATEGIC PARTNER

We are procuring the partnership of private companies, governments and environmental groups to design and invest in the most fitting waste-to-energy solutions for their local communities.
