Long-Term Power Purchase Agreement

20-Year Utility-Backed

Streamline Integrated Energy’s flagship project, SPM-Planta Basura@Energía, is supported by a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement with Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad del Este, S.A. (EDEESTE), one of the Dominican Republic’s state-owned electricity distribution utilities.

The signature of this contract on April 10, 2026 is a milestone that materially strengthens the project’s commercial profile by establishing a long-term offtake framework while supporting revenue visibility, project bankability, and long-term infrastructure financing.‍ ‍

Contract Pillars & Fundamental Terms

  • 20-year term from commercial operation date

  • State-backed distribution utility offtaker

  • 100% of the plant’s injected energy contracted

  • 55 MW of contracted capacity

  • Priority in dispatch

  • Transparent pricing mechanism linked to fuel indices and regulatory parameters

  • Commercial structure designed to support project-finance-style debt and institutional equity participation

Our Flagship Project

SPM-Planta Basura@Energía is SIE’s flagship project in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic. The project is designed to transform municipal solid waste into utility-scale power through a modern waste-to-energy platform tailored to the country’s environmental and energy needs.

As a first-of-its-kind platform asset in the Dominican Republic and the wider Caribbean region, the project aims to reduce reliance on landfills, address long-standing waste management pressures, and provide reliable power capacity through an integrated infrastructure solution.

Project Snapshot

Project: SPM-Planta Basura@Energía

Location: San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic

Type: Waste-to-Energy / Energy Recovery

Strategic role: Waste management plus power generation platform

Design processing capacity: Approx. 350 TPD municipal solid waste

Output energy capacity: 55 MW

Why this Project Matters

The Dominican Republic continues to face structural challenges in both waste disposal and energy reliability. SIE’s development approach is built around solving both problems with a single integrated infrastructure platform.

By converting municipal solid waste into energy, the San Pedro de Macorís project is designed to support cleaner waste-handling practices, reduce dependence on open dumping, improve environmental performance, and create a more productive use of waste streams that have historically imposed social, health, and economic costs.
