Marc McMenamin has over three decades of industry experience, and brings deep expertise in the recapitalization, refurbishment, and operation of waste-to-energy plants and solid waste management facilities—capabilities that are critical to SIE.
As Founder, CEO, and President of Green Conversion Systems LLC (GCS), he was awarded the development, construction, and operation of a new waste-to-energy facility for the City of Los Angeles. He also served as President and Facility Manager of GCS Energy Recovery of Pinellas, leading the successful turnaround of the largest mass-burn waste-to-energy facility in the United States for Pinellas County, Florida, with an asset value of approximately $750 million. Previously, Marc was Vice President at Distributed Energy Systems Corp. (DESC) and a founding principal of a group of waste services companies that owned and operated a waste-to-energy facility in New York. His hands-on experience brought him to the Dominican Republic around 2004 as a consultant, where he recognized the need for commercial-scale waste processing solutions in a growing economy.
Marc holds a certification as Chief Facility Operator from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Hofstra University.
